Dr. Linenberger is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology at UW Medicine, the Medical Director of Apheresis and Cellular Therapy at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and an Associate Member in the Clinical Research Division of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. He has been at UW Medicine since 1986 when he began his fellowship training in hematology.
His current clinical research and regulatory activities focus on the safe procurement of blood and marrow stem cells for their subsequent use in transplantation and immunotherapeutics. He also maintains a busy outpatient hematology practice. As Program Director for the Hematology/Oncology fellowship at UW Medicine, he is deeply involved in teaching, mentoring and career development. He serves on the Hematology Exam Committee of the American Board of Internal Medicine, serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the American Society for Apheresis and is also a member of the Committee on Educational Affairs of the American Society of Hematology. Dr. Linenberger received his B.S. in Cellular Biology and M.D. at the University of Kansas and completed his internal medicine residency at Rhode Island Hospital (Brown University).
