Michael Regnier, Ph.D.
Washington Research Foundation Endowed Professorship in Bioengineering
Professor and Executive Vice Chair of Development, Department of Bioengineering
Dr. Regnier received his Ph.D. in biology-neurobiology from the University of Southern California, followed by post-doctoral training in muscle biophysics at the Mayo Clinic and UCLA. He directs a research group interested in the sarcomere protein interactions involved in the activation and regulation of cardiac and skeletal muscle. The knowledge gained from these studies is used to develop and test novel protein, cell and tissue engineering approaches to treat heart failure and muscle diseases.
