Professor and Chair, Department of Physiology & Biophysics
Founding Director, Raymond and Beverly Sackler Postdoctoral Scholars Program in Integrative Biophysics
Dr. Froehner received his Ph.D. in biochemistry and neurophysiology from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). In 2000, he joined UW Medicine as chair of the Department of Physiology and Biophysics. He is also the founding director of the Raymond and Beverly Sackler Scholars Program in Integrative Biophysics.
Dr. Froehner is a molecular physiologist with expertise in muscle function and disease. His lab is currently studying the molecular basis of muscular dystrophies.
