50th Anniversary Endowed Scholarship

The 50th Anniversary Endowed Scholarship Fund was established to provide medical-school scholarships in honor of the University of Washington School of Medicine’s 50th anniversary. Today, the School of Medicine reflects the efforts made over more than 50 years to create an institution that excels in teaching, patient care, research, and service to the region. The earliest days of community-based teaching and the quest for knowledge shaped the medical school’s character, which remains constant to this day: the School is unique in its position as both a top-ranking scientific research institution and a leader in primary-care physician education and training. This scholarship, funded by alumni, faculty, and friends of the School of Medicine, was created in response to the increasing costs of medical education and the reality that the majority of the School’s graduates must now receive financial aid to support their education.
