Erick A. Nilsson Endowed Scholarship
EST.2006
Erick Alexander Nilsson was born in 1931 in Tacoma and passed away in 2005. He showed promise in art and music at a young age and earned a bachelor of fine arts in interdisciplinary visual arts from the University of Washington in 1955. Mr. Nilsson spent two years in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; later, he became an interior designer. He loved fine food, good music, the arts, and travel, and was devoted to family. His life was a testament to his belief, says his niece, that the humanities enrich our lives. He also believed in the “exponential power of education,” and left a significant estate gift to fund student scholarships at the UW School of Medicine.
