Created by the estate of Arnelle Frances Fischer in 2005, this scholarship fund recognizes students’ need for support during their medical-school years. The distributions from this fund are co-mingled with funds from the UW Medicine Endowed Scholarship to benefit the maximum number of students.
The UW Medicine Endowed Scholarship is the School of Medicine’s premier unrestricted scholarship fund, providing scholarships to students with either financial need or academic merit. The scholarship was created from the proceeds of the Dean of Medicine Loan Fund, the Medical Student Assistance Loan Fund, and the Medical Student Financial Aid Fund, and is now sustained by new donor contributions, such as those provided by Ms. Fischer’s estate.
