The Montana AMA-ERF Medical Student Loan Fund, established in 1979, was created upon receipt of a gift from the Montana American Medical Association Education and Research Foundation (Montana AMA-ERF). This original gift was made to support programs at the medical school, and, in accordance with the needs at that time, the School of Medicine directed that the funds be used to provide loans to medical students from Montana. The Montana American Medical Association Education and Research Foundation Endowed Scholarship in Medicine will provide current and future medical students with much-needed scholarship support while also honoring the intent and generosity of the Montana AMA-ERF.
