Dr. and Mrs. Samuel James Torney Memorial Scholarship

The Dr. and Mrs. Samuel James Torney Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund was created by a gift from an estate in 1985. This fund, established through the generosity and foresight of Walter L. Neill, a Seattle resident for many years, benefits School of Medicine students with financial need. Mr. Neill established the endowment to honor the memory of Dr. and Mrs. Samuel J. Torney. Mrs. Torney was his sister; his brother-in-law, Dr. Torney, was an otolaryngologist in Bellingham, Wash.
