It seemed like a good idea at the time (What could go wrong?) A SIGCSE Special Session |

We often learn of successful pedagogical experiments, but we seldom
hear of the ones that failed. Based on the premise that learning from
failure is at least as effective as learning from success (and
much more entertaining), we presented a Special Session at
SIGCSE 2007, 2008, and 2009: "It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time." We
solicited submissions from the SIGCSE membership, and, to our surprise
and amusement, several people responded, people with far more courage
than any of us. Of those, we selected the ones below for inclusion in
this special session. Our plan is to make this a regular session at
each year's SIGCSE Symposium.
