Senator Patty Murray and President Young Speaking about Keeping Student Loan Interest Rates Low

Senator Patty Murray and President Young at a press conference today talking about the need to keep interest rates on federally subsidized student loans at a reasonable rate. Unfortunately grad and professional students will lose subsidized loans starting July 1st as a result of the deficit reduction deal last August.

Wash. Legislature passes budget proposal

The state legislature finally passed a supplemental budget with relatively few cuts to UW! The cuts were related to administrative efficiencies and do not impact money going to instruction and student-related services. Most are calling this a zero cuts budget for higher education!
