The 5th Annual Higher Education Summit on Nov. 4, drew an impressive group of five Washington state lawmakers, senior UW administrators, presidents from the University of Washington and Washington State University, and many graduate and professional students concerned about the future of higher education in Washington.

This year's event focused on how state and federal funding trends were impacting the quality of graduate and professional education at UW. The event took place on Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, 9am-1pm, at William H. Gates Hall, Room 138.
The Summit schedule included:
Breakfast 8:30am
Introduction and Welcome 9:00am
Panel 1: State Funding for Higher Education 9:50am
Panel 2: Federal Funding at UW 10:50am
Student Presentations, Lunch 12:15pm
Speakers included: Keynote Speaker: Samual Smith, President Emeritus of the WSU and a member of the HECB. Other speakers include Executive Vice Provost Doug Wadden, State Senator Scott White, State Senator Jeanne Kohl-Welles, State Representative Reuven Carlyle, UW Interim Vice Provost for Research David Eaton, and many others.
