The GPSS President appoints graduate and professional students to serve as Executive Liaisons to the following University committees, which determine policies that impact students. Advisory Council on Trademarks and Licensing

Purpose: to advise policy makers and UW administration on how best to ensure that all products bearing registered UW trademarks are produced under humane working conditions as defined in the University’s Code of Conduct for licensed manufacturers

Purpose: Helps the Office of Off-Campus Housing Affairs decide what should be the office's main focuses of the year. This office deals with all types of housing issues. Campus Sustainability Fund

Purpose: The mission of the CSF is to create a sustainable campus and foster an environmentally conscious culture by funding student-lead projects from a portion of student fees to lessen the university’s environmental impact. The CSF committee is responsible for providing directionfor all aspects of the fund; including project approval, strategic visioning, budget oversight, etc.

Purpose: Provide resources and experiences aimed at success for both graduate students and post-doctoral fellows. Hall Health Advisory Committee

Purpose: The Hall Health Advisory Committee (HHAC) is composed of 2 appointed representatives from ASUW and 2 appointed representatives from GPSS. In addition to these student members, the HHAC has staff members appointed by the Executive Director of Health Sciences Administration, the administrative unit in which Hall Health resides. HH receives an annual allocation from the Services and Activities Fee Committee to create a universal health coverage system for all students who pay the S&A fee. The HHAC is the body that is charged with reviewing of the “use policies” of Hall Health.

HUB Art Project Selection Committee

Purpose: This committee selects Coast Salish/NW Coastal commissioned art that will be incorporated in the new HUB. Earlier this year, HUB administrators received some very enthusiastic response from several local artists. The Request for Proposal was published and advertised recently, and now a committee is needed to review the proposals.

Purpose: The HUB Office Space Assignments Committee (OSAC) reviews applications and assigns office space to registered student organizations on behalf of The HUB. Registered Student Organization (RSO) office space in the HUB is assigned annually. OSAC allocates HUB Office Space to officially registered student organizations that meet specified criteria. OSAC is an advisory committee to the HUB Director with student and staff membership that annually assigns and allocated HUB office space to Registered Student Organizations.

State Environmental Policy Act Advisory Committee (SEPA)

Purpose: The SEPA (State Environmental Policy Act) Advisory Committee was established by action of the University Board of Regents pursuant to WAC 478-324-040. Its purpose is to assist the University in compliance with the provisions of the State Environmental Policy. The Committee reviews all draft and final environmental impact statements, proposed and final declarations of non-significance, and proposed revisions to State Guidelines or related University regulations. The Committee’s recommendations are advisory in nature, and are generally submitted for the consideration of the Responsible Office of a particular project.

Student Technology Fee

Purpose: The mission of the Student Technology Fee Committee is to utilize the power granted to us by the Washington State Legislature and Board of Regents at the University of Washington for the purpose of allocating the funds collected through the Student Technology Fee in a manner beneficial to all students across our campus, to supplement technology needs for students, and to enhance the resources of the University of Washington.

Task Force on Sexual Assault Prevention and Response

Purpose: The University of Washington is committed to showing national leadership in tackling the problem of sexual assault on college campuses. A UW Task Force on Sexual ASsault Prevention and Response has compiled 18 prioritized recommendatios to address the issue, and funding has been approved for the first set of steps.

UW Public Arts Commission

Purpose: The primary purpose of this commission is to oversee the acquisition of artwork for the University campuses through the Washington State Arts Commission Art in Public Places Program (WSAC-AIPP). In addition, UWPAC is responsible for reviewing department-sponsored art programs and private gifts through its three subcommittees: the Campus Art Committee (for the Seattle campus and various smaller locations, such as Pack Forest and Friday Harbor); the UW Tacoma Art Committee (for the UW Tacoma campus); and the UW Bothell Art Committee (for the UW Bothell campus).

Purpose: The University Transportation Committee (UTC) acts as expert counsel and a representative voice of the campus community on a wide variety of transportation issues.
