What is Recruitment?
University of Washington fraternities have an informal recruitment process which occurs primarily in the spring and summer. To begin the process of becoming part of the UW Greek community, sign up for the Recruitment List. After submitting your contact information, fraternity recruitment chairmen will contact you and invite you to events where you can get to know more about the fraternity, and they can get to know you.
The recruitment events at UW can take many forms. Most of the fraternities host events each week throughout the year. These events can range from chapter house tours and barbecues to more elaborate events such as river rafting, camping trips, and concerts. As a potential new member, you should use these opportunities to interact with fraternity members and gauge whether or not your interests, ideals, and priorities coincide with theirs. Take your time, be yourself, and make sure to visit with as many fraternities as possible prior to making the right choice for you. Once you have attended events, chapters may offer invitations to join. You can receive invitations from multiple chapters and after you have received an invitation it is your choice where to join. With so many fraternities to choose from, you owe it to yourself to make a well-informed decision based solely on what is important to you.
Feel free to contact chapters personally to find out more about them. Individual chapter contact information can be found in the Fraternity Profiles.
