Introduction
Monitoring children's growth
is a universally valued part of their health care. Every parent wants
to know whether his or her child is growing well; every clinician wants
to be able to reassure parents if growth is appropriate or to seek help
if it is not. Measuring children and plotting their measurements on growth
charts are the first steps in growth assessment; the next step is interpreting
the plotted charts.
The aim of this
module is to help the clinician detect poor growth in young children and
describe the growth in exact terms.
