The GYRE project was an experiment conducted under NASA's Reduced Gravity Student Flight Opportunities Program.

The GYRE team built an autonomous free-flying robot capable of orienting itself using visual cues and navigating in a microgravity environment and tested their robot on reduced gravity ("free fall") flights offered by NASA in 2003 and 2006.

Pictures of work on the robot, flying the robot, and outreach visits are now available.

The GYRE team is interested in speaking to interested groups about their robot and their flight. To arrange for a educational visit to your school or organization, contact David Bliss at dbliss@u.washington.edu.
For questions about the GYRE project, please contact David Bliss at dbliss@u.washington.edu. To email the entire GYRE team, send mail to gyre@u.washington.edu.
