Edward E. Carlson Student Leadership Award

Named for one of Seattle’s foremost civic leaders, the Edward E. Carlson
Student Leadership Award recognizes individual students (junior or senior
undergraduates) who have demonstrated a strong commitment to public
service, provided outstanding leadership in the community, and who are
committed to continued creative civic participation. The Carlson Student
Leadership Award recipient will receive $2500 and be honored at the 2009

Fulbright Info Sessions

Are you currently a junior, senior, recent graduate or graduate student looking for a fully-funded study-abroad experience during the 2010-11 academic year? Consider the Fulbright US Student Program (http://us.fulbrightonline.org/home.html). This program is designed to give students, artists, and other professionals opportunities to pursue research, graduate study or English teaching experience in over 155 nations worldwide.

The application cycle for the 2010-2011 Fulbright U.S. Student competition will open on May 1, 2009. The campus deadline for applications is September 23, 2009.

• Awards approximately 1,500 grants for travel to over 155 countries worldwide.
• Offers one academic year of study, research, or teaching assistantship experience. Projects may include university course work, independent library or field research, or professional training in the arts.
• Preference is given to candidates who have not had extensive recent experience abroad (excluding undergraduate study abroad) in the country of application.

Position:
INSTRUCTOR, Training- Tacoma, WA location

The purpose of this position is to develop and present skill-based, operational training materials and training classes to the Reimbursement Operations team and field in accordance with Reimbursement Operations and DaVita initiatives. Ensuring department goals and objectives are achieved, in alignment with DaVita’s Mission and Core Values.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Train new and existing teammates on Reimbursement Operations functions and processes
• Develop training materials to enhance existing topics and improve overall quality
• Create and distribute Tips of the Day as required
• Develop and deliver Reimbursement Operations and field training via WebEx as required
• Develop pre and post quizzes for training engagements
• Grade quizzes within 48 hours of teammate completion
• Lead by example, (i.e.) professionalism, team spirit, positive attitude, constructive feedback, and willingness to help others
• Support training team in all ways, including filling in as trainer for classes when a team member is absent or unable to meet scheduled commitments due to an emergency
• Proactively identify and lead projects to support company growth
• Initiate research and development of new training topics that will support teammate growth
• Serve as Trainer of the Day (Trainer Of the Day) on a rotating basis
• Responds to Trainer Of the Day email
• Reports Trainer Of the Day issues to Training Team in Homeroom
• Logs Trainer Of the Day teammate questions into MAGIC tracking system
• Schedule a minimum of four hours month to spend on floor with specifically assigned Reimbursement Operations team
• Report weekly on teammate feedback and issues that were gathered while in departmental groups.
• Serve on Reimbursement Operations specific committees and report results back to the Training Team
• Utilize Smart Board technology while delivering classes
• Participate in weekly Training meetings and bi-weekly bi-coastal Training Meetings
• Deliver training to offsite teammates as required
• Research information for class development as well as conduct research required to appropriately answer Reimbursement Operations questions
• Understand and follow DaVita teammate handbook and Safety and Security policy and procedures
• Report any injury on the workplace premises to a member of the management team or People Services immediately
• Some light travel required
• Other duties as assigned
