    HCDE and the HCDE Student Association are pleased to announce the winners of the HCDE mural design contest.  We received 9 great entries and would like to thank all entrants for their time and effort.

    Congratulations to Christiana Wu and Ashlimarie Dong for their winning entry!

    Below is a draft of Christiana’s and Ashlimarie’s mural design; click on the thumbnail to see the design full-size.  The artists will finalize their design and the HCDE Student Association will seek approval of the design from the University’s art review committee.

    Engineers Without Borders: Designer Needed

    EWB needs a designer for a project in Bolivia. Here is part of the job description:

    I’m the lead for a rural roadway improvement project in Bolivia that the UW chapter of Engineers Without Borders is working on. We are currently looking for a small group of engaged HCDE students to help with the design of a roads maintenance manual for the community with which we are working. This is a exciting opportunity for HCDE students to not only apply their skills to a humanitarian cause, but a great design challenge as well.
