HCDE Ride in the Rain Team Formed

Riding in the Rain imageIt’s that time of year again! While the fair weather cyclists and pedestrians scamper back to the comfort of their cars and buses, a few undaunted souls will brave the slick roads and early dusk of autumn–on their bikes.

To honor riders in the rain and raise driver awareness, UW hosts the Ride in the Rain Challenge, a campus-wide competition to see which department can log the most bike commuter miles in a single month. That month is: NOVEMBER! Continue reading ‘HCDE Ride in the Rain Team Formed’

The annual World Usability Day (WUD) is on November 11, 2010 and Microsoft is hosting an event on the Microsoft Redmond campus! Abstract: There is critical, nation-wide need to improve health care services while reducing cost. Electronic health records (EHR) and applications of health information technology (HIT) have great potential but there is strong resistance by private hospitals. SHARP is the HHS research program to provide the technology needed for nation-wide adoption and meaningful use of EHR. Open House at Intel Labs Seattle

Monday, November 1, from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.

We invite you to visit and meet some of Intel’s top researchers when Intel Labs Seattle holds its annual open house on the 1st of November from 3 to 6 pm. The lab is located on the 6th floor of 1100 NE 45th St, Seattle, three blocks from the main University of Washington campus. The open house will include posters and demonstrations of key research projects, opportunities to meet researchers, students and faculty, and refreshments. Marketing/Social Media Internship @ Arts Nonprofit

Creative Activities and VSA Washington are 2 nonprofit organizations working together in partnership to provide equal access to the arts for youth and adults with disabilities in WA State.  With offices and a public Artist Studio at Seattle Center, we offer numerous programs in education and professional development, as well as partnering with existing community arts groups to create inclusive programming.  Each May we produce a 2-day, inclusive arts festival – ArtSpring! – at Seattle Center.
