Would your research be improved by learning a foreign language? Foreign Language & Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowships are a great way to get that training paid for. FLAS Fellowships support undergraduate, graduate and professional students in acquiring modern foreign languages and area or international studies competencies. Students from all departments and professional schools are encouraged to apply. FLAS Fellowships are available to U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Contingent on funding from the U.S. Department of Education, the eight National Resource Centers of the University of Washington’s Jackson School of International Studies will offer Academic Year 2013–14 and Summer 2013 FLAS Fellowships in these languages.
Applications are due on January 16, 2013 at 5 PM PST. Notifications will be mailed out between March 1 and April 1, 2013.
