Payroll Title: Part-Time Advancement Student Worker

Supervised By:  Special Events Manager, College of Engineering

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist special events team with the production of event collateral, venue research, online calendar updating, and day-of event assistance.
  • Assist donor relations manager with endowment and donor files, schedule student scholarship recipients for assignments and update and maintain the endowment master list.
  • Data entry, ensure that alumni updates are entered into University database.
  • Assist Marketing and Communications team with research projects, mail list maintenance, online image gallery maintenance and general office support.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  Not applicable

Desired Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Project management skills, ability work independently and meet deadlines.  Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
  • Capacity to work professionally with many constituencies (e.g., staff, faculty).
  • Demonstrated strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Creative Suite (primarily InDesign, PhotoShop, Illustrator) and MAC computers.
  • Ability to work outside of regularly scheduled work hours on event days (evenings and weekends).
  • Ability to lift 25-30 lbs.

Product Designer Fellowship for Human Centered Design Innovation Lab in Cambodia

Interested in designing extremely affordable innovations to tackle problems that are of life-and-death importance?

We have launched the first Human-Centered Design Innovation Lab in Cambodia.  We need you to help us grow. iDE is looking for a product designer, with 2-4 years experience in product development, specifically in a human-centered design context.  You will take on a key role within a multi-disciplinary team, based in Ethiopia and Cambodia for a 16-month Fellowship.

This is an opportunity to work on real-world problems alongside a close-knit, diverse, and top-calibre team. You’ll wear many hats, including that of a coach, to grow HCD in Cambodia. You’ll work on designing solutions for the developing world that improve the lives of those who need them most. And at the end of the term, if we see a mutual fit, you’ll be offered an opportunity to stay on as full-time Leader at the innovation-Lab.

DHS Secretary’s Honors Program

WASHINGTON– Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano today announced the creation of the Secretary’s Honors Program (SHP), a new initiative to recruit exceptional recent graduates for careers at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The announcement was made at a meeting of the Homeland Security Academic Advisory Council (HSAAC), a federal advisory committee comprised of prominent university presidents and academic leaders.

“DHS is committed to providing rewarding and challenging careers for the next generation of homeland security leaders,” said Secretary Napolitano. “The Secretary’s Honors Program will help build a pipeline of talent critical to DHS’ missions and ensure the Department employs the most qualified, and highly trained workforce both now and in the future.”
