Services are provided by an experienced staff of registered and certified social workers, licensed physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses and support personnel. Professional staff who instruct residents and interns have appointments at the University of Washington School of Medicine or graduate School of Social Work.
Joint Commission Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO)
Harborview Medical Center is reviewed regularly by the Joint Commission. In November 1999 Harborview was awarded accreditation with commendation for the second consecutive time, receiving a near-perfect score of 96 percent.
Community Sexual Assault Program
Having undergone rigorous reviews on 45 standards to demonstrate high quality, comprehensive, stable services and responsiveness to community needs.
Mental Health Services
As part of Harborview Mental Health Services Outpatient Programs, the Center is a state-certified Mental Health Provider and currently contracts with Seattle Mental Health to provide services as part of King County's Prepaid Mental Health Plan.
