Sexual and phyiscal child abuse continued to decline in 2005 and 2006. The total national decline since 1992 is
53% for sexual abuse and 48% for physical abuse. State-by-state change rates are also available in the

New Law, Allows leave from work for victims and families. Under federal and state family leave laws, larger employers must grant family leave to employees who meet certain requirements. Family leave may be taken for the birth and care of a child, the placement of a child for adoption or foster care, and for the employee's own or a family member's serious health condition.
