The Northwest AIDS Education and Training Center (AETC) provides
continuing education on HIV/AIDS to clinicians, primarily through
in-person training. But with a region that stretches from Alaska
to Oregon to Montana, they needed a cost-effective outreach strategy
to support their limited training schedule, effectively reach clinicians
with updated information about changing HIV treatments, and help
to establish the AETC identity. We produce a quarterly video series
for Northwest AETC, called Current
Topics in HIV/AIDS Care, that features expert HIV clinicians and real patients, shot on location throughout the region. We broadcast it on the satellite ResearchChannel, and make it free to regional clinicians on VHS. In addition, we worked with the AETC to create their comprehensive
website, which allows them to communicate training schedules in
each state they serve, fulfill video orders for regional clinicians,
and promote their programs.
