Counseling the Patient with Hepatitis C Treatment-Related Side Effects

A 56 year-old man has hepatitis C genotype 1 and is on "triple" therapy with peginterferon, ribavirin and boceprevir. He has completed 16 weeks of therapy and is now complaining that he is itching all over his body for the past week. He does not have a rash that you can see.

What can he do to help with his itching while waiting for his next appointment with his medical provider?

A Lower his ribavirin dosage.
B Keep well hydrated and use moisturizer before toweling dry after a shower.
C Take a very hot shower to relieve the itching.
