WRC Hours

The WRC is open from 11:00am - 3:30pm Monday through Thursday during the academic quarter (with limited hours during finals week and closed in the break between quarters). If you'd like to schedule a time to come in outside of these hours, contact Mark Shaw at mshaw@uw.edu.

Our Health Promotion staff and student volunteers are committed to help people make informed, voluntary, health promoting behavior changes. The services shown below are ways we pursue this goal:

UHELP: The University Health Education Leadership Program is a student-led effort, in which college students receive the opportunity to learn about important health matters from a group of well-trained and highly dedicated Peer Health Educators.

WELLNESS RESOURCE CENTER: The WRC contains a vast collection of educational materials, including brochures, newsletters, and videos on a wide variety of health-related topics. Located in Room 213, it is a great place to find out information about a health concern, to get more materials to write a term paper on a health topic, or to meet with a health educator for a one-on-one consult.

SMOKING CESSATION: Quitting smoking is one of the best things you can do for your health, and if you want to try a new method to make a permanent change, a unique program is available through our department.

BIKE LIGHTS, BIKE, SKI, SNOWBOARDING, and IN-LINE SKATING HELMETS (and other 'gear'): As a way of promoting safe exercise, we are selling high-quality lights and helmets at bargain prices. Contact Mark Shaw to arrange for an appointment to purchase any of these products before coming in so we can make certain to have a staff member or volunteer around to assist you!

CONDOM CLUB: Join the condom club and receive a condom starter pack plus 50 condoms for just $15.
