Lyndsey S. Benson, MD, MS
Dr. Benson is an Acting Assistant Professor in the family planning division in the UW Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She received her undergraduate degree in neuroscience and classics from Brown University in 2005. She completed her M.D. at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine in 2010 and also earned an M.S. in clinical research from Case Western Reserve University. She completed a year-long Doris Duke Clinical Research Fellowship in family planning at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) from 2008-2009. Dr. Benson completed her residency in OB/GYN at the University of Chicago and her fellowship at the University of Washington in June 2016. She is currently pursuing research and clinical work related to family planning while continuing to practice general obstetrics and gynecology.

Dr. Benson’s clinical interests include general obstetrics and gynecology, family planning and contraception for women with complex medical issues. Her goal is to empower women to take an active role in their healthcare and to treat every patient with compassion and respect.
Dr. Benson enjoys playing the clarinet, hiking, arts and crafts, and exploring the Pacific NW with family and friends.
