We recently received some conceptual renderings of the front lobby of Hall Health from Miller Hayashi Architects LLC, the architectural firm contracted for the renovation project. Some “before” photos and “after” conceptual renderings are posted below with an outline of some of the proposed benefits. The entire document, Hall Health Final Lobby Renderings (05/20/09), from which these photos were extracted is available in the Drawings section of this website, along with the current and archived versions of the proposed floor plans for the health center.

At the student health center, we are very excited about this opportunity to improve our services for students by making needed building renovations in order to improve or accommodate the:
- increasing demand for student health services at UW,
- building’s lack of waiting room areas for patients and lack of space in general,
- increasing size of the “on-campus” residential student population (1,200 expected in 4 years (23% increase) and 2,400 expected over 15 years),
- increasing medical and mental health care needs of students (a nationwide phenomenon), and
- diminishing primary care services in the surrounding community.
We will use this blog to communicate with the campus community about our renovation project. Please use the navigation menu near the top of the page to learn more about the details of this project. We invite you to use the comments section to ask questions or provide feedback. You can also subscribe to receive updates via e-mail or your favorite news reader.
