Our Health Promotion staff and student volunteers are committed to helping people make informed, voluntary, and health-promoting behavior changes. Our services include:
- easy access to health education materials including: brochures, newsletters, multimedia presentations, and other resources on a wide variety of health-related topics including, but not limited to:
- alcohol and drugs
- eating disorders
- healthy relationships
- nutrition

- physical fitness
- sexual health
- smoking cessation
- stress management

- peer-to-peer consultations on health-related topics by members of UHELP and our team of professional health educators
- a smoking cessation program featuring one-on-one counseling sessions, resources, and tips to help you kick the habit
- access to affordable condoms via the Condom Club
- conducting health-related presentations, campus-wide events, and outreach to the UW community
- producing and distributing The WellDawg, a campus-wide newsletter focused on promoting wellness for UW students
- developing Wellpup handouts and educational bulletin boards covering a variety of health-related topics
- managing the website, patient education materials, marketing, and outreach projects for Hall Health
- providing tours of Hall Health
Our department supports several student-led programs focused on educating the UW community on health-related matters, including:
- UHELP: The University Health Education Leadership Program is a student-led effort, in which college students receive the opportunity to learn about important health matters from a group of well-trained and highly dedicated Peer Health Educators.
- SHAQ: The Student Health Advisory Quorum (SHAQ) is a registered student organization that provides the UW campus with input about student health issues.
