Sheila Edwards Lange
Ed.D. Candidate
Sheila is currently a doctoral candidate in higher education (Educational
Leadership and Policy Studies), and is employed full-time as the Associate
Director for Research in the Center for Workforce Development at the University
of Washington.
Sheila was recently selected for an AERA-sponsored mentoring program for
young scholars interested in gender research, and I am the recipient of
the College of Education’s Women in Higher Education Leadership
Scholarship. She is interested in conducting gender research following
graduate school, as a faculty member or in an administrative position.
Sheila has worked in higher education administration for many years, in
both academic and student affairs. She started her career in housing and
student development at the University of California, Irvine. Since then,
she has worked in academic affairs at the University of Washington, in
education and planning at the Seattle Community Colleges, and as special
assistant to the president at Western Washington University.
Sheila earned a Bachelor's degree in Social Ecology from theUniversity
of California, Irvine and a Master's degree in Public Administration from
the Evans School for Public Affairs at the University of Washington.
