Mary Alice Hanken is a senior lecturer in the Health Informatics and Health Information Managment Program. She teaches courses on legal aspects of health care, quality improvement and research in health care, and manages selected field experiences and projects.

Mary Alice is a past president of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), WSHIMA and has recieved AHIMA's Educator Award, Literary Award, and Distinguished Member Award.
