While on vacation in Mexico, I had the opportunity to visit the Sian Ka’an Reserve on the Yucatan Penisula. We had a wonderful picnic on a deserted, pristine beach, followed by a massage. The massage table was set up next the ocean, under the shade of some wise trees.
The only sounds to be heard were the waves gently breaking on the shore and the whisper of the wind. At some point in the massage I became keenly aware of the sound and movement of the waves, and a connection to the wind. As the waves came to shore, it was as though they pushed the wind over my body.
And in an instant, the wind pushed the wave out to sea. As this pattern continued, the sound of the waves and the feel of the breeze diminished – they were still there, but present as one entity – and at that point, I was lifted into that entity – no wind, no wave, no beach, no “me” – everything was ONE, including me. It was like a single, calm energy where everything was connected to everything. This was for the most part, an undescribable feeling. It lasted until a wave of fear (fear of unknown) caused me to re-join my physical state (bummer).
For some time afterwards, every time I touched a living thing, I could feel that same energy flowing.
