Harborview Injury Prevention and Research Center Research Assistant Vivian Lyons, MPH, was awarded the Student Outstanding Science Award at the Society for Advancement of Violence and Injury Research Conference on Sept. 18-20 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Lyons, who is an epidemiology doctoral student at the University of Washington, was one of a number of HIPRC faculty, staff and fellows who presented at the conference.
Members presenting posters or serving on panel discussions included director Monica Vavilala, M.D., violence prevention section lead Ali Rowhani-Rahbar, M.D., Ph.D., MPH, and core members Megan Moore, Ph.D., MSW and Fred Rivara, M.D., MPH. Rowhani-Rahbar also serves on the SAVIR Board of Directors.
The conference also featured presentations by Research Scientist and Epidemiologist Brianna Mills, Ph.D. and T-32 Postdoctoral Fellow Stephen Mooney, Ph.D. Lyons also presented a project led by T-32 Postdoctoral Fellow Robert Tessler, M.D.
Two former HIPRC T-32 postdoctoral fellows, Washington State University Assistant Professor Janessa Graves, Ph.D., MPH, and Drexel University Assistant Research Professor Alex Quistberg, Ph.D., MPH, also presented research at the event.
