A. discusses the similarities between the tendencies he studies in the 16th-c. collections and those found in texts recorded from modern tradition. He also studies the formation of nonsense words growing out of misunderstood archaisms and the effect of lexical change upon the tradition as a creative process. |

| Abstract: | A. contrasta la "situación perfectamente jerarquizada" de la poesía del amor cortés con la idea del amor en la lírica tradicional, "en la que las situaciones y posibilidades son numerosísimas y de una frescura y naturalidad realmente llamativas" (p. 133). Destaca una serie de temas característicos de los villancicos: la monja contra su gusto; malcasadas y adúlteras; la albada; el encuentro junto a la fuente; la lavandera; garza y halcón; y la niña en cabellos, entre otros. La perspectiva del romancero, por otra parte, difiere sensiblemente de la que se observa en la lírica. El amor se ve con ojos más pesimistas y "en los romances causa muerte tras muerte" (144). Hay comentarios sobre una serie de romances: Gerineldo; Afuera, afuera Rodrigo; Fontefrida; La dama y el pastor; Melisenda insomne; inter alios. |
