| Abstract: | In these three volumes A. meticulously documents, describes and catalogs the 2,150 ballad texts and 217 other songs (representing 298 and 137 text-types respectively) in the holdings of the Menéndez Pidal Archive (Madrid). A bibliography of Hispanic and European analogs accompanies the entries for each text-type. Vol. III includes an anthology of the rarest ballads in the collection, a bibliography, seventeen different indices, and a glossary of dialect forms.
