IF YOU INTEND TO ATTEND THE HISTORY DEPARTMENT’S CONVOCATION CEREMONY
Annually, the Friday before the official University-wide commencement ceremony, the History Department holds its own convocation ceremony.
Each April, graduating seniors will receive invitations with details.

Guest Tickets
Participation in the History Department Convocation is by invitation only and requires that graduating seniors RSVP. Tickets are not required in order to attend this event; with your response, please indicate the number of guests attending Convocation.

Attire
Attire is business casual. Neither caps nor gowns are worn at the department's convocation.

Registration & Late Seating
The ceremony will begin promptly. All graduates must be present and seated 15 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony.

Parking
For on-campus parking during this event, please purchase a parking permit in advance through the Commencement web site.

WHETHER YOU INTEND TO ATTEND CONVOCATION, COMMENCEMENT, OR NEITHER :
1: Ensure that the permanent address listed in MyUW is one to which a diploma can be mailed up to four months after you graduate.

2: Check out http://www.washington.edu/alumni/ to see whether the services, career networks, and discounts offered by the UW Alumni Association are of interest.

3: Students who graduated the preceding December or March, or who have applied by the Spring deadline for graduation in June or the following August, are eligible to participate in either or both of the graduation ceremonies.

4: Particpation in graduation ceremonies is not required to obtain your degree, nor does particpation confirm that your degree has been awarded. Check your transcript for confirmation.

IF YOU INTEND TO ATTEND THE UW COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY IN HUSKY STADIUM:

1: This ceremony is usually the Saturday immediately after finals end.

2: Check http://depts.washington.edu/commence/ for all of the information you’ll need on parking, caps and gowns, tickets, etc.

3: Check it once when you apply, and once again on May 1 st.
