2. Peak Incidence of Nevirapine-Associated Hepatotoxicity Reactions

Nevirapine-associated hepatotoxicity reactions consist of two major types: hypersensitivity reactions and direct drug toxicity reactions. The hypersensitivity reactions generally have a peak incidence at approximately 1 month after starting nevirapine and rarely occur after 2 months. The direct drug toxicity reactions can occur at any point, but typically have a peak incidence at month 6 after starting nevirapine.
