Upon completing the module Oral Manifestations, participants should be able to:

  1. Recognize the three most common manifestations of oral candidiasis in HIV-infected persons.
  2. Discuss topical and systemic therapies for oral candidiasis.
  3. Identify the viral agent that has been most strongly associated with oral hairy leukoplakia.
  4. Understand the general approach to the management of oral hairy leukoplakia.
  5. Describe how aphthous lesions in HIV-infected patients can differ from aphthous lesions in immunocompetent HIV-negative persons.
  6. List agents that have efficacy in the management of aphthous lesions in HIV-infected persons.
