The 2005 U.S. Public Health Service guidelines suggest that a more aggressive, three-drug PEP regimen should be recommended for either a high-risk exposure or exposure involving a source patient who is classified as high-risk. Both the exposure and the source patient in the case presented would be regarded as high risk. |
