Thank you for your interest in the Husky Marching Band! The UW Athletic Bands program, particularly the distinguished Husky Marching Band, allows students from practically every degree-granting program at the UW and at other colleges and universities in the Seattle area a chance to take part in one of America’s most exciting collegiate marching bands, thereby providing for their continued musical growth and, more importantly, enabling them to establish life-long friendships.
I encourage you to fill out the auditions registration form so that you may receive our audition updates. Please do not let the fact that a playing audition is required discourage you from trying out. It is a very painless process that will last less than 10 minutes. Historically, over 80% of those who audition are selected for membership. First and foremost, we want you in the band!
Auditions for all first-year members who play a brass or woodwind instrument will be held from 12:00p.m. to approximately 5:00p.m. on Sunday, September 7, 2013. Those who successfully audition into the band will then need to attend an orientation session immediately following auditions. Out-of-state students who play such instruments may submit a taped audition or arrange for an appointment during their on-campus orientation if they choose.

Upon acceptance to the band, all members are required to attend a mandatory camp Monday, September 16th through Friday, September 20th (8:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.). Our first full-band performance will be at the UW vs. Idaho State game on Saturday, September 21st.
