Our research examines exercise based countermeasures to osteoporosis. We utilize in vitro and animal models to explore the process of mechanotransduction in bone. Specifically, we are interested in understanding how cells within bone perceive and respond to mechanical stimuli. Buy developing an understanding of this fundamental process, we seek to design novel exercise based interventions to enhance bone mass and augment skeletal strength for application in the human populations.
