Gardening on the Internet
When I'm in the library, I like to browse. Is there anything similar on the Internet?
Yes! Internet Directories provide seemingly endless listings of websites to check out. The best are organized by humans with subject expertise and include annotations. Some that we recommend to library visitors are:
The Open Directory Project claims to be the "largest, most comprehensive human-edited directory of
the Web." Certainly large, the Garden directory includes over 3,000 annotated links.

The Digital Librarian is organized by Margaret Vail Anderson, a librarian in Cortland, New York.
The Gardening Resources page is one long list, but with headings at the top to allow you to jump to areas of most
interest.

Yahoo is the granddaddy of commercial directories and has separate, excellent directories for Lawn
and Garden, Horticulture and Botany.

If this doesn't exhaust you, the Miller Library's Other Horticulture-Related Web Sites is our own
grab bag of horticultural directories and gateways.

Next: I love my old garden encyclopedia, is there anything like that on the Internet? |
