Gardening on the Internet
Where can I find a picture of the plant I'm interested in?
There are many web sites with extensive plant photo collections. Specific sites we recommend include:
Missouri Botanic Garden's Plant Images Online http://www.mobot.org/MOBOT/Research/links10.shtml
Botanical Image Datebase from University of Basel

Plant Image Collection from the Smithsonian Institution's Museum of Natural History http://botany.si.edu/PlantImages/
The Google Image Search is an effective search engine for
images of all types on the Internet.

USDA PLANTS is a database of 30,000 images with advanced attribute searching (growth habit, state distribution, etc.) and a focus on North American native and naturalized plants.

CalPhotos: Plants is a depository of over 76,000 plant
photos. Many are of California natives but the range often includes the
Pacific Northwest. Clear guidelines are included for obtaining permission
on using the photographs.

Landscape Plants: Images, Identification and Information from Oregon State University provides
multiple images of over 900 common landscape plants. Mostly woody plants, pictures for each typically include overall habit with
close-ups of leaves, flowers, fruit and any other significant features.
