Miller Library staff share their favorite books
On exhibit in the Miller Library in June and July are favorite books selected by the six library staff members. Some favorites are scholarly, some literary or artistic while others are practical how-to-grow-it guides. Titles include:

- Rebecca Alexander: Hedgerow by John T. White; illustrated by Eric Thomas
- Carrie Bowman: Grace from the garden: changing the world one garden at a time by Debra Landwehr
- Tracy Mehlin: Noah’s garden: restoring the ecology of our own back yards by Sara Stein
- Martha Ferguson: Garden Retreats : creating an outdoor sanctuary by Barbara Blossom Ashmun
- Laura Blumhagen: The complete guide to landscape design, renovation and maintenance: a practical handbook for the home landscape gardener by Cass Turnbull

Art Exhibit: The Nature of Clay by Katie Murphy
Katie Murphy strives to capture the beauty of nature in her ceramic art. As the Hyde Herbarium Collections Manager and current graduate student at the UW Botanic Garden, Center for Urban Horticulture, Katie is surrounded by color, texture, beauty and form and infuses her ceramic artwork with this botanical inspiration. Marvels of Modernism Photography Exhibit
The Cultural Landscape Foundation’s Landslide program works to draw attention to threatened American landscapes with the goal of increasing appreciation and support for preservation. Seattle Pacific Science Center’s entry courtyard designed by Minoru Yamasaki is one of the featured landscapes.
