A Phase I/II Clinical Trial to Evaluate the Safety and Immunogenicity of the HIV-1 DAN Vaccine VRC-HIVDNA009-00-VP (GAG-POL-NEF-MULTICLADE ENV) in HIV-1-Infected Subjects Treated During Acute Infection

This study is a randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blinded trial to evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of an HIV-1 DNA vaccine (VRC-HIVDNA009-00-VP) in HIV-infected subjects on highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART).  Subjects who were treated with HAART during acute HIV infection and have maintained undetectable levels of plasma HIV RNA are eligible for enrollment.

The study is testing the hypothesis that this vaccine is safe, and will also evaluate the immune response to the vaccine and determine whether vaccination results in improved control of HIV viral replication following discontinuation of HAART

This study is no longer enrolling new subjects.
