Virginia Gonzales is a Senior Consultant for International Projects for TVT Synergy at the UW Center for Health Education and Research. This 5 year USAID funded project focuses on HIV/AIDS control activities in developing countries. Professor Gonzales is also the Director of Education for a Fogarty Funded project with a mandate to train health providers on applications of computer technologies and information science in public health. She served as Co-Principal Investigator on a project that focused on STD/HIV/AIDS in high-risk women. She also served as the Health Education Specialist for the WHO Global Program on AIDS in South East Asia.

IAETC will participate in a collaboration with UCSF to improve the care of people living with HIV/AIDS in heavily affected, low-resource areas outside the US by increasing the capacity for training of HIV/AIDS health care providers.
