Our Flagship Programs
In collaboration with its community and organzational partners, HPRC has developed and tested three nationally recognized programs: EnhanceFitness, PEARLS, and ACS Workplace Solutions.
Starting as pilot research studies, each of these programs has developed into independent products promoted and managed by community organizations. HPRC continues to provide technical assistance and evaluation of these programs and to study new audiences and applications for them.
EnhanceFitness, a community-based exercise program for older adults, focuses on flexibility, balance, low impact aerobics, and strength training. EnhanceFitness is now a program of Senior Services.

PEARLS (Program to Encourage Active, Rewarding Lives), a brief, in-home, counseling program for older adults, teaches three depression management techniques: problem solving, planning social and physical activities, and scheduling pleasant events.

Workplace Solutions helps employers identify and adopt evidence-based best practices by assessing their current practices, making recommendations for improvements, and helping implement evidence-based health and wellness programs that help reduce the risk of cancer and other serious illnesses. Workplace Solutions is now a program of the American Cancer Society.
