Award-winning Programs

2007 Project Enhance (EnhanceFitness and EnhanceWellness) The US Administration on Aging (AoA) selected Project Enhance as a 2007 Choices for Independence Program Champion. As one of 20 Champions, Project Enhance demonstrated the principles of the AoA strategy to rebalance and modernize health and long-term care for older persons and those with disabilities.

2006 Washington Comprehensive Cancer Control Program received the Exemplary Planning Award for its Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan from C-Change, an organization comprised of members from government, business and nonprofits.

2006 Project Enhance received the Industry Innovator Award from the International Council on Active Aging, the world's largest trade association for the senior fitness and wellness industry.

2005 EnhanceFitness received the 2005 Community-Based Program Award from the Washington Coalition for  Promoting Physical Activity (WCPPA)

2005 EnhanceFitness Senior Services of Seattle/King County was one of ten nationwide winners of the Third Annual Innovation in Prevention Awards for the EnhanceFitness Program (formerly known as Lifetime Fitness Program). The award was created as part of the HealthierUS initiative and U.S. Dept of Health and Human Services' focus on preventing chronic disease and improving Americans' lives.

2005 Lifetime Fitness Program and Senior Ethnic Nutrition Program Senior Services of Seattle/King County was selected as one of 17 You Can! Program Champions by Administration on Aging. The campaign aims to boost physical activity and improve food choices among older Americans, and has enrolled more than 1,850 partners nationwide. .pdf available

2005 Healthy Aging Partnership In recognition of exemplary community service, The Executive Alliance, an association of Puget Sound-area nonprofit organizations, presented the Healthy Aging Partnership with the 2005 Evergreen Award at the 11th Annual Washington State Nonprofit Leadership Conference. HAP was recognized for its creativity in communicating the broad benefits of its mission to the wider community.

2003 Lifetime Fitness Program was identified as one of ten programs nationwide receiving an award for best practices in physical activity programming for older adults by the National Council on the Aging (NCOA). .pdf available
