In collaboration with its community and organzational partners, HPRC has developed and tested three nationally recognized programs: EnhanceFitness, PEARLS, and ACS Workplace Solutions.
Starting as pilot research studies, each of these evidence-based programs has developed into independent products promoted and managed by community organizations. HPRC continues to provide technical assistance and evaluation of these programs and to study new audiences and applications.
EnhanceFitness, a community-based exercise program for older adults, focuses on flexibility, balance, low impact aerobics, and strength training. The EnhanceFitness program is now licensed nationally by Sound Generations (formerly known as Senior Services.) EnhanceFitness website
PEARLS (Program to Encourage Active, Rewarding Lives), a brief, in-home, counseling program for older adults, teaches three depression management techniques: problem solving, planning social and physical activities, and scheduling pleasant events. PEARLS website
Workplace Solutions helps employers adopt evidence-based best practices by assessing their current practices, making recommendations for improvements, and assisting with implementation of health and wellness programs that reduce the risk of chronic disease.
