This picture shows the main parts of the HIV, including a protein in HIV's coat or outer skin called "Glycoprotein-120" or gp-120. You can see gp-120 as the "knob-like" structures on the outside of the HIV, and here they are labelled as "env" because they form an "envelope" around HIV. In Protocol 014 part of what we are testing is a vaccine that is made to look like gp-120 in order to stimulate the human immune system.
