Abandoned Items
Do not abandon items in the hallways or on the loading docks. Contact Surplus to have these items removed from your department.
Building Hours
Building hours for the Health Sciences / Foege are Monday - Friday, 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, except holidays. These are the hours that the building is unlocked.
Bulletin Boards
In order to protect the painted walls, do not directly attach posters, flyers, signs, etc. Tape, pins, screws, and nails can damage the paint. Departments are asked to purchase bulletin boards or display cases and have Facilities Services mount them on their walls. Contact Building Management for further information on approved boards or cases at 685-0143.
Hallways
Items should not be sorted in public corridors per Seattle Fire Department Code and University policy. These corridors are designated exit routes. Keep them clear for emergency evacuation and emergency responders.
- WAC 296-800-3105, Seattle Fire Department Code
- UW Administrative Policy Statement 16.1
Hallways that are classified as suite areas may have some variances. Contact Building Management, if you have questions.
Inspections
Hallways are inspected for improper storage of items and abandoned items. All efforts are made to trace these items to faculty, staff or departments.
- Seattle Fire Department fire and safety inspections - conducted annually and upon request by Environmental Health and Safety staff.
- Spot checks - completed as frequently as possible by Building Management.
Recycling
See loading docks for detailed information of where recycling containers are.
